YSL's Spring Collection 2015 : Palette Ombres De Jour & Palette Lumiere De Jour

Left: Palette Lumiere De Jour (aka Glow Enhancing Pressed Powder) & Right: Palette Ombres De Jour (5-Color Ready-To-wear)

*Disclaimer : Was not sent. Purchased this.

Part of YSL's Spring Collection 2015 were these two lovely palettes. It's a surprise I didn't get any lip products avid being a lip product lover. Maybe it's because I was more curious on the palettes this time. Anyway, I have been purchasing a lot of makeup in the form of palettes for these few months. Started from the Holiday Season up till now and I don't think I will stop anytime soon haha! I don't own any YSL glow enhancing powders neither any eye shadows, so this will be more like a first impression review.

I feel in love with the overall product inside and out! As a fan of Spring colors, I love my eye-palettes to have a pink shade and the glow enhancing powder was a baby pink at first sight! How lovely! The packaging is too pretty! On the front cover, the glow enhancing powder had a white with something like pink and green iridescent glitter with YSL embedded lace while the eye-palette had the pink glitter with the YSL embedded lace as well. All around the packaging is of a gold shade and overall it gives the product a touch of luxe and elegance.

YSL Lumiere De Jour (aka Glow Enhancing Pressed Powder)

Now let's start with the Glow Enhancing Pressed Powder. On the pan, it is of a baby pink shade with shimmer. However when swatched, the shade still comes out true to color but there are big hints of glitter when blended out. This got me worried because I don't like to have visible glitter/shimmer on my cheekbones and it does not look nice to my combi-oily complexion. This palette retails for S$75.

In the pictures, it looks matte but in real-life, you can see those visible shimmers. I have tried it on just to highlight my cheekbones, it is a beautiful shade but I didn't apply it too much because the shimmer can be very visible on my skin.

Overall:
Packaging: 5/5
Pigmentation: 4/5
Application: 3/5
Texture: 4/5

YSL Palette Ombres De Jour (aka 5-Color Ready-To-Wear)

This is an exciting palette! Other than it being my first YSL eyeshadow palette, I was super excited to dig in to feel the texture and pigmentation. I love it! Especially the middle black shade with pink glitter, the glitter wasn't sprayed over! And of course I had to do a look with this palette! They have a few looks for you to try with this palette, but to me, I play around with the shades my way. What I love about palettes is that you can use your imagination and be creative in mixing and matching the shades. This palette retails for S$95.

Close-Up Swatches without primer!

This eye shadow palette comes in satin and shimmer textured shades and they have no matte shade in it which I wished they had. But when I combined all these eye shadows for an eye look, it all blended beautifully. However for people with hooded eyelids, I suggest to not use too much of the highlighting or shimmer shade on your brow bone for it can make your overall look droopy.

Overall:
Packaging: 5/5
Pigmentation: 4/5
Application: 4/5
Texture: 4/5

Overall, I'm very happy with these two palettes and now, I can't wait to save up and purchase their Babydoll Blush which I'm eyeing for a long while now! Not to mention their lip products as well although I own abit of their Volupte and Volupte Shine lipsticks haha!

Ta-da! An eye look using the palette and using the Glow Enhancing Powder on my cheekbones!

Hope you enjoyed reading my post, have a good day and take care!
